How to Download TikTok Videos on PC or Mac (No Watermark)
Updated · KeepClip
Editing a TikTok properly means getting it onto a real computer, and TikTok does not make that easy. There is no download button on the desktop site for most videos, and the ones you can save come stamped with a watermark that ruins the clip for any serious edit.
You do not need to install anything to fix this. A browser is enough — here is the whole process on Windows and macOS.

Step by step
- 1
Copy the video address
Open the TikTok video in your browser and copy the URL from the address bar. Alternatively, click Share under the video and choose "Copy link".
- 2
Open the downloader
Go to keepclip.live/tiktok-video-downloader in the same browser.
- 3
Paste and fetch
Paste the link into the box with Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac), then press Download.
- 4
Pick a quality and save
Choose HD MP4 for the full-quality file, or MP3 if you only want the audio. It saves to your Downloads folder.

Getting the link when there is no Share button
On the desktop site the Share options sometimes sit behind a small arrow icon to the right of the video, and on some layouts they do not appear at all. When that happens, ignore the buttons entirely and copy the address straight out of your browser address bar — it is the same link, and the downloader treats it identically.
If you started from a link somebody sent you, it may be a short vm.tiktok.com address. Those work too, but if a short link ever fails, open it once in a tab so it expands to the full tiktok.com address, then copy that.
Where the file goes on Windows and Mac
- Windows: the file lands in C:\Users\<your name>\Downloads. Chrome and Edge also show it in the downloads bar or the downloads icon in the toolbar.
- Mac: it goes to your Downloads folder, and Safari shows it under the downloads arrow near the address bar.
- If your browser asks where to save each file, you will get a normal Save dialog instead — pick any folder you like.

Why the desktop download is worth it
Saving on a computer gives you the original MP4 at full resolution, which matters if the clip is going into an edit. Phone screenshots and screen recordings lose quality, add interface elements, and often capture at a lower frame rate. A clean source file drops straight into Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or iMovie without any of that.
It also means you can compress the file deliberately before uploading it somewhere else, rather than letting the destination platform crush it for you.
Which browsers this works in
Any modern browser handles it: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Opera all work on both Windows and macOS. There is no extension to add and no account to create. Because everything happens over a normal web page, it also works on Linux and on Chromebooks.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install software?+
No. It runs entirely in your browser on Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS — nothing to install, no extension, no account.
Does the download have a watermark?+
No. The downloader fetches the clean source file, so there is no bouncing TikTok logo or username across the video.
What quality do I get?+
The original quality the creator uploaded, usually 1080x1920 HD. You cannot get better than the source file itself.
Can I download just the audio on desktop?+
Yes — choose the MP3 option instead of MP4 after pasting the link.
Why did my download fail?+
Almost always because the video is private or restricted. Only publicly visible videos can be downloaded, by any tool.
Is there a limit on how many I can save?+
No. There is no daily cap, no signup and no paid tier.
